Note: I hate sniping. I know it's allowed, but it's rude to people who think they've won an auction and at the very last second, a computer program snipes it out from under them. So, because I have to honor it per Listia, if you snipe, you'll be banned from future auctions. (Sniping, in my definition, is not placing any bid at all until you swoop in at the last second to outbid. If you place a previous bid, that's not sniping.)

Hi, just out of curiosity what difference does it make if someone is "sniping" if it gets you more credits how is it a problem? What if someone comes in at the last minute and sees your auction and decides they would like to bid on it? You are going to ban them because they simply won your auction? If a person gets out bidded because of it, maybe they weren't comfortable bidding any higher. Just a thought...you might be deterring more people from bidding with your message.

It makes a difference to me. I don't really care if it gets me a hundred more credits allowing it. It is extremely rude and makes this an unfriendly place. More often than someone finding it at the very last second before the auction closes (doubtful, but possible), it's usually someone using a computer program to come in at the last second. It's discouraging to have the high bid for days, watch excitedly the final minutes as you and another bidder go back and forth, and then have someone's faster computer beat out your final bid. I know I'm offering good stuff at cheap prices (sometimes I lose money big time; other times I get a lot of credits). I have blocked several people. Bidding is more fun when you're doing it the old fashioned way instead of rudeness. Listia should extend auctions for 3 minutes after the last bid. Until they do, I'll just block snipers. So far, the overwhelming majority of bidders are happy with that. For those who aren't, there are plenty of other items for them to snipe; just not mine.
