How "deep" are the designs? This is a great offer, whatever the size--but I have these at about 1/3"--I'm looking for deeper ones at about 1".

they are a heavy metal/stone coated material. Very well made. That's the best I can describe them.

I remember these as a child. Does it have a Receipe to make licorice flavor or the basic batter?
Thank you

The recipes in the instruction book are for: Beer Recipe, Recipe for Sea Shells and Grandma McKay's Special Recipe. I don't see one for licorice flavor, but the Grandma McKay recipe is basic; it has vanilla; I guess you could add licorice flavor instead.

If you want licorice flavored rosettes, try looking for recipes with anise extract. If you can find black anise seeds, they work great--but the black ones are hard to find. (I only have this on advice from a friend--I don't like licorice, so wouldn't make these, sorry.)
