Mexican lime tree (Citrus aurantifolia), also known as the bartender’s lime, is a thornless lime variety that grows in U.S. Department of Agriculture hardiness zones 10 and 11. Like all citrus varieties, the Mexican lime requires well-drained soil, plenty of warm weather and protection from winter cold. Mature trees grow 12 to 15 feet tall, 6 to 8 feet wide and produce small green and yellowish-green limes. The tree is evergreen and produces fragrant white blooms against a backdrop of green foliage in early spring.
Growing:
The easiest way I have found is to soak them in a damp paper towel. Then plant 1/2" deep in well draining soil. Keep damp and keep them warm.
