These tiny little bulbs are called "pips" and will be packaged in dirt. You can plant them over fall so they germinate thru winter or wait until spring, though they probably wont bloom.
This auction is for 5 pips, GIN will get 7.

Questions & Comments

If you wait to plant in the spring, they may not bloom next season. If you put them in the ground before winter, they will bloom next season. They need the cold temperatures to grow, like dahlias and lilies.

They will bloom if you plant the pips before winter. If you wait until spring to plant them, they will sprout but probably not bloom until the following year. The cold weather, for whatever reason, helps them grow.
