Handcarved by my great uncle Stanley Waligorski in the 1940s, Chicago, IL. There is only the one bookend, I'm not sure who it's sposed to be, if any one particular person, or what kind of wood it us, but it is definately a very unique piece! I get comments on it all the time...the reason I'm getting rid of it is, all of a sudden my Chihuahua barks & growls at it constantly, no matter where I put it! My loss your gain! Measurements in pics., wood is in great shape, no cracks or chips. A few scratches on back in the paint...id give it an A

Lol. Sometimes spirits attach or a person leaves a residual energy (especially with handcrafted items that they put a bit of themselves into) . Our pets pick up on those things. Anyway, very nice book end!
