The listing, Huge Lot Kids Fun Plastic Beads & Buttons has ended.
Like all beaders I guess, I have a huge number of beads I hang onto but don't love. Nothing wrong with 'em; in fact, my family is somewhat aghast at my choices. But even beads need love, right? I decided to take Listia's destash challenge and see if I can trade these in for beads that will make my eyes sparkle as well as my jewelry.
This is the Kids Fun lot with 1000s of beads and hours of fun. In the picture, I'm trying to show you the number and variety. It completely fills one of those Danish cookie tins. I'm a mother of 5, though my youngest is now 10 and these days, that counts as a woman, so I'm told. But I know those dreary long days and its beginning raining, if you live in the South or the East. It's all about age, I find. At a certain age, you take out the bead tin and we sort. A little older, we can (carefully: needles are sharp) string. And though you are a woman at 10, you might still be bored enough to learn to stitch some rather fancy jewelry with the beads in this huge collection. What it's really about, of course, is spending time with your kids: the conversations that happen during the activity, the laughter, the love...ah, I grow maudlin. Anyway, if these don't sell, I suppose I will save them for the grandkids once they begin happening but I hope some new young mother wins them, I really do.
Good luck with your bids and make sure to check out the four other de-stash listings this week!
A little unusual request here: some of these credits will go toward finding the perfect beads for a rosary for my friend {Michelle}: please join me in praying for her. If you need religious jewelry and can't afford it, let me know.
