The listing, CRYSTAL COVERED ROCK - 1 has ended.
This is my first auction of crystal rocks from my trip to Flagstaff this year. It measures approximately 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/2". This piece has beautiful lavender tinted crystals. It's gorgeous!
I am a rock hounder and I picked up all of my rocks up for auction from the volcanic mountains near Flagstaff, Arizona. I'm not a geologist. I believe them to be quartz and quartzite. All Listia rules apply. Please have a verified address as these are one-of-a kind and cannot be replaced.
Except I'm pretty sure that actual "Pecos Diamonds" come from the Pecos River Valley in Southeastern New Mexico and are reported to be quite rare - though a lot of what I find looks a lot like the pictures I've seen of Pecos Diamonds. Maybe I should call them Flagstaff Diamonds, lol.
I live rocks also and live in colorful colorado but never have luck finding much on my quests yet many if my friends find great stuff...i am an unfulfilled rockhound that has to purchase her rocks! Haha:) pretty bad i know:))
Yes the real ones are found in New Mexico but they really look like this one when you are lucky enough to find a big one. Usually they are little. I didn't realize they were rare. I have several I gathered when I was a little girl. Of course that was almost 70 years ago. Then you could pick up things like petrified wood and turquoise as well as pecos diamonds quite cheap if not found in the desert We had such fun as kids hunting for them.
