Only way to know is if it balances properly and points North as it should. Lol i only ask cause I had one years ago that, for some reason stopped pointing in the right direction.

taking your advice, when I stood facing North..it said N. When i turned facing south, it turned to S..so I would have to say based on those findings,thar..yes, it works..lol
