Description

The listing, Rooted Strawberry Plant! has ended.

My new house has come equipped with a strawberry patch that is running absolutely wild! My plants are flowering nicely and promise to have a lot of fruit, but they are sending out runners in every direction over their mulch and threatening to take over the yard. Why not share?

Upon inspection, the strawberry hill appears to have an assortment of different types of strawberries, so some will probably be of the smaller, sweeter variety that grows wild here while some are clearly larger Alpine strawberries. Take a gamble, they're all delicious :)

This auction is for one rooted runner. As it's already May, these will not fruit this year, but if tended should flower and fruit just fine next year. I'll be sending these plants with a small root bundle and packed in plenty of moist paper.

As these are live plants, I will only ship early in the week so that I can be sure they don't end up sitting in a hot post office over the weekend! For the same reason, I can not ship these internationally. Please plant them quickly.

I love your auctions! I am watching all of your auctions. Anyways, what tips can you give on what to do with the strawberry plant with it being September? I live on central Texas and I have a small 4 shelf greenhouse. I will be planting it in a planter. What is your best advice on growing strawberries?

In TX, you should have absolutely no problems. I'm in MA and these are still producing foliage and runners. They only fruit once a year though. Don't be afraid to put them behind or even underneath other plants (they make a great understory planting for nut trees) as they appreciate shade.

If you're planting in a greenhouse, you're going to want to pick up a few strawberry pots, as it really saves space. These things spread like crazy! The first year plants that sprout up from the runners will not produce fruit the first year though, so don't get discouraged.

On that note, if you don't get fruit by June... I probably gave you a fresh runner :/ They will fruit eventually, and live for 10-20yrs!

Thank you so much! I have strawberry plants for 3 years now . They started of in 1 pot and ran to 2 other pots. Lol. They always yave great foliage but very few strawberries. So I am thinking I might be doing something wrong and may need a couple of new onesto add to them. I have never tried a strawberry pot though.
