The imei or meid # identifies the phone ( make , model, carrier etc.)--- it can be located in several ways.. here are a few ways to find it.

1. dial * # 06 # no need to press send -it should come up and then you write it down.
2. If it is the iphone 5 series or the original iphone it will located on the back of the phone in very small numbers.

3. 3G and 4's with a SIM card slot will have it written on the slot

4. Go to settings on yor home screen and tap General then tap About . Scroll down until you see imei or meid. tap that and it will give you the number.
