Questions & Comments
may i suggest check on flat rate boxes at your post office, the flat rate boxes and labels are free, and as long as it fits it ships for a single price, and within 3-7 day delivery normally also free tracking and insurance when you use those boxes, and don72 read the rules the seller can take longer than 7 days IF the winning bidder is in agreement that it will take longer then expected to ship the item out
And I'd say that by bidding on an auction that states it may take two weeks to ship that you are agreeing to that condition, and saying you understand this.
@don72, Listia gives you much more than 7 days to dispute an auction, and if Listia finds against a seller, don't think for a minute they won't take those credits right out the seller's account. I've disputed auctions as much as 3 weeks later.
thank you jamez i was gonna say i have actually disputed one that was at least a month old, and no probs getting my credits back, the seller had personal issues to deal with she was a seller with awsome feedback until something happened asked the winners for time and just never came back, so feedback doesnt matter, ive had sellers with only 30% feedback send things right away and 100% not send at all, it depends on if you think you will have enough patients to wait if there is a problem, me personally i dont mind waiting 5 days for a dispute to end lol
Listia isn't going to have a problem if you add a reasonable condition to your auctions, as long as it spelled out in the original posting.
So I don't believe that they would have a problem with you saying that it May take me up to two weeks to ship. As long as that was in your original auction description and not added as a comment or an update.
I was also pointing out that anyone who bids on an auction with the condition written into its original description like that, has agreed to that condition. If they agreed accidentally, then they need to learn to read the auctions before bidding. It's simple, it's even in the rules. The problems only occur when someone is trying to cheat someone else, or is being very unreasonable.
JamezK listia moderators do delete auctions the seller states certain shipping terms beyond 7 days they have to me and they keep deleting ones that I list as shipping only free if over X amount of credits which I think is kinds ugh If I list it as buyer pays they usually don't but if I add the free shipping but put in the terms if over XXX or GIN this is an issue I don't see why because either way we all should be reading the entire descriptions and confirming things before we bid but hey rules are rules. This is a nice auction watching and bidding
@gigueres80, I suppose that it breaks down into whatever the Moderators considered reasonable.
One of the things they do NOT consider reasonable is putting in FREE shipping when you MAKE the auction, THEN, modifying it in the description to "Free after XX credits". THAT is not allowed.
What IS allowed is to specify "Flat Rate", or, "Exact" shipping when you CREATE the auction, and THEN modifying that inside the description to "Free after XX credits". No one is going to complain about that.
The first example would be false advertising, the second not.
This is because if the person doesn't read and understand EVERYTHING, then they are likely going to miss that it's only free AFTER xx credits. Which is exactly why someone would want to write it that way, and to get a bigger initial audience.
Now we both know that many businesses consider fraud to be a legitimate business model, but Listia, and its users, do NOT.
Who's going to get mad about paying LESS than they thought or planned on?
