The listing, Beautiful LARGE stone Vintage pendant has ended.

beautiful vintage pendant with a large stone set in the middle, honestly I dont know much about it, was a gift from my late mother in . I dont know what stone is set in the middle but it is definitely a stone (not plastic) and it has some weight to it. The stone is a burnt orange color.

If someone could help me out with what kind of stone it is, it would me much appreciated :-)

It has been lying in storage for quite some time because its not really my style of jewelery.

I have thought of taking out the stone and having it set in a ring or attaching a pin for a brooch but I have enough rings and dont really wear brooches.

Me too but it is pretty. I had seen some design work the other day that looked very close to this, but, I can't for the life of me remember what heading it was under as I browse so darn much. We could use a panel of jewelry experts that we could submit photos & get help identifying our unique unsigned pieces of jewelry.

that would be awesome, I am really curious as to what it is, my guess is amber but who ever wins it I would like to know once they have found out. Also think is a pretty piece but I wear the same chain and cross everyday so it needs a home where it will actually be displayed. its just gathering dust in storage

I just watched a video on testing for amber without damaging the piece. It's called the static test and you tear up small pieces of paper and set on a table. Then take wool=like a large wool sweater and you run the stone until your arm wears out (lol) and then test to see if the stone picks up some of the small bits of paper. If it is amber it will-supposedly because amber holds a charge when briskly rubbed on wool for a few minutes.
