No no no this is straight talk.....i don't know what the carrier is
straight talk uses different ones.....and yes phone is model t401g just as stated in original post and yes there is a new installed sim card

Phones that end in g like this one do not work on verizon towers. Ones that end in C do work off Verizon towers. I live in close to the Canadian border in Northern NH and we only have the use of Verizon towers. Yes, there are phones that only use Sprint towers, T-mobile or At&t like their new Androids do. They did however just come out with an awesome touch screen with a full slide out qwerty board the LG 511C which is almost identical to the LG Banter Touch. It is app compatible etc etc, BUT it cost $199...so I am on the look out for an inexpensive one on here or elsewhere until the price drops or I get some money. Anyway, good luck with this auction, too bad it's not a model that ends in C.

I have a straight talk and need to get one for my teenager. I know it will work in my area so I really have no questions. I am bidding and watching and will most likely bid til I run out of credits:-) lol I also fanned you! Great auction! Thank you for listing this. At least there is the chance of getting a much needed item for very little money. As far as I am concerned, it is worth every credit I have if I can win it.

both of you are right in a way the zip code you give straight talk will tell them which carrier you will use some areas use verizon or sprint which are cdma and do not use sim cards others use att or tmobile this phone will only work in att /tmobile areas and may need a diferent sim card to work on the right network you can tell by the numbers and letters on the sim card either way as long as you can get t-mobile or att it will work they might have to send you a new sim but that it all I have this phone by the way and it works great Its a good slider with a full keyboard I have a 8 gig mem card in mine no problems you can even port your number in to it

there's so many questions about this phone I almost did the "river dance" on it...
there's also so many different answers that I'm flustered and hoped that someone would be able to send a site so they can research the model and the "Straight Talk" web site or call them first....would save a lot of confussion I think>>>>

If the tech stated information incorrectly you can call him and ask.... his name was carlos and maybe you can explain to him how wrong he is because as I stated I do not know any tech and just repeated what he told me.....

That is totally incorrect, I am sorry. Verizon phones can NOt use At&t sims cards. I had this phone, it was AT&T phone, I could not get reception at my house. I gave it to my mom & bought a straight talk phone that looks almost identical to this one, it did not have a SIM card & it worked at my house. It does not depend on where you register it at all! The tech that you talked to was very wrong. It depends on the phone.

Here's FYI
No matter what zip code you use when activating phone, the carrier you will be given is where you will get the strongest signal...;will and could be any of the following....AT&T, VERIZON, T-MOBILE AND OR SPRINT....
This is what the tech informed me so that is why I do not know which carrier you will get...........

I think your misunderstanding the confusion. Some people know that they can't get service in there area with one provider or another, that is all everyone is trying to figure out. If this phone will work for them, no one is being rude with you.

Just an FYI I was not being rude you however are. This phone uses AT&T towers. I know this for a fact becuase I had it & switched becuase I couldn't get reception where I was living at the time with AT&T. Yes it is a straight talk phone but do a little research, straight talk uses other providers towers & this phone you have listed bounces off of AT&T towers :) Not any others

YES there is a sim card....I was told that straight talk uses two carriers....
AT&T and Verison....don't know which one this is.....and don't know if thats fact

Still not clear. Is there a SIM CARD under the battery? Most can't use if it does unless they have an ATT tower near. I don't but like this phone. Please check and see if there is one under the battery. If not I will bid or GIN it.
