My advice is when your tree starts to fruit. Immediately take seeds and grow a second tree. Because the lemon tree every seven years will not fruit....it rests for a whole year.... Then fruits again after it rests. This way your second tree provides while your first tree is at rest
My suggestion is when using the leaves for cooking pair it with Buddhas hand. You will love the flavor and aroma. Yummy Buddhas hand is a spice you can use it for a lot of things. Anything that requires lemon in it can be replaced with Buddhas fingers.
A little bit more info. If you are planning on leaving it outside and you have winters. It needs to come in for winter. It is a Tropical plant and loves heat, sun and moisture. You will enjoy the scent it provides It is a natural deodorizer.
