This is a Collectible,very old, Vintage++ Sterling Silver Skull Momento Relic. A sign of Mortality. These skulls were placed on a Nun's Rosary, as an ever present reminder of their mortality."They were used to help focus when a Nun was in silent prayer or meditating. I have had this for several, several years. But, seemed to bother? me. and have never worn it. The jaw does move & the detail, teeth, etc. is overwhelming. The attached bail and the larger Bail are both sterling. This was passed onto me when I was young, There may be "marking" but I doubt it. Probably just small tiny detail. What I can tell you from my Great-Great Aunt, (who gave this to me, about 34 years ago,is that this is 100% Sterling Silver, no question. It has been sitting for many years and I hesitated to list it during Fall/Halloween Season, as it is Not for that reason. I hope that someone to whom this Relic Skull would have a deep meaning to will see it and understand the true meaning. Measures 1"-(including the bail)- and 6/8" at the widest part.
