It sounds like from your description of it turning off non stop could be its over heat and fried parts on mother board. If the fan does not come on then thats a Bad sign, thermal paste is prob done for , it can be fixed though long as some1 has the know how and understanding . I remember i had this same silver ps2, i think lighting hit it, still have the trusty old ps2 Phat though even though its rarely brought out ..

Instead of sending the item 1st class mail and them charging you by the weight, Send it to them Priorirty mail, which is a flate rate including tracking #,insurence and it make more sense. They start from a little under 6 bucks. to get a box to ship this priority would only be a round $12 and change. They dont charge by weight..

Paying $20 to have this shipped 1st class mail is insane when their is a better shipping option..

Might wanna look into it.

couple of questions about the unit. one does the light go red after it is on? Does the fan engage when it comes on? And finally can you play anything on it? I.E is the problem consistent? Thanks in advance.
