Awesome auction! I have the same kit except the diamond tester (which I'm going to get).
It is so easy to get the .925 and gold K stamps that many people are fooled into buying jewelry which they believe are real because it is stamped. China (for one) is over flooding the market with fake jewelry. Crystals are being passed off as diamonds as well.
Not all real jewelry is stamped - especially vintage and smaller pieces. Stamping the smaller pieces would distort the setting.
Buyer beware! This would be a great kit to have.

I agree this is a great kit to have and is the reason I am offering it here on Listia. I just did not realize that the jewelry stamps are so easy and readily available for people to get....that's so unscrupulous!!! Yes everyone dealing in or having any doubt about jewelry should own this kit!!! I buy a lot of my used jewelry at our local Antique Depot but am no expert by any means, I guess I should buy another one of these jewelry testing kits for myself
