Beautiful, satiny flowers in sunset colors wave above ferny, blue-green foliage. They like poor soils, especially sandy soils. If soil is too rich and moist, they won't bloom well. California poppies are a cool-season annual, which means they offer great color early in the growing season but fade once the heat of summer hits.

Height: Under 6 inches
Spread: Up to 12 inches
Uses: Beds, Containers, Ornamental
Sowing Method: Direct Sow: scatter seed outdoors after danger of all frost, cover seed with a 1/4” of soil. Germination is 14-21 days at 70 degrees.
Bloom Season: Spring to Summer
Care: Tolerates poor sandy soil with low fertility, heat and drought conditions.
