Do you have to have a cell phone plan to be able to use this on wifi? For example, if I am within wifi range will it go on the internet without a cell paid cell plan?

Yes..android will work on Wifi. My daughters use TikL app to talk/text to other android users without a contract. Makes it easy on my bill! :))

Actually this phone may work with virgin Mobil... i can't remember if virgin works with sprint or sprint works with virgin.

I ordered it Oct 6th for my upgrade...now I'm taking my wife's upgrade to get the iPhone. She will take my Epic...like musical phones! :)

This phone would not be able to be activated with Verizon or Virgin Mobile, as it has a serial number that is not registered with their database and would be considered foreign. However, it could be flashed to certain other carriers (i.e.- Cricket, MetroPCS) as they allow it within their systems.

I put the into development mode, I'm unsure how to explain it , but when in this mode u can put a wifi tether on it to turn it into a wifi hot spot ( already done) . There r other apps that u can get for use that r avable in this mode that r usefull. I hope this helped some else on here my be able to explain it better. Thanks
