As a Cottage Garden ornamental, Red Zinger presents with an abundance of large yellow flowers, blushed with pink edges and a brilliant crimson throat. The deep red-crimson calyxes from which the 'red tea' is brewed, are both healthy and dynamically beautiful when peeking through their lush green leaves.

Harvest the red calyx in late summer early fall. With a paring knife, score around the top core of the calyx and remove the soft red-crimson shell, place on newspaper and lay in the sun to dry. Once dry store in a dark glass tea jar.
