My late-husband's family is Dutch and one of my favorite storytellers was Corrie tenBoom (Concentration camp survivor, author of many books, including "The Hiding Place", and evalgelist who often spoke on the topic of "forgiveness" and lived to be 91), so, over the years I absorbed lots of fact-type stuff. In particular, "Harlem" is a neighborhood in Manhatten, New York City, NY and "Haarlem" is in west Holland. You see, many good things have come out of The Netherlands besides cocoa. Best of luck with this and all future auctions, be you listor or bidder. And, naturally, I will be watching this quite closely. Thanks for listing.
Thanks for the fanning, Sister. I am watching this auction awfully closely... for the personal and collectable reasons above. You might like to take a look at the new bottles that I just put up. One has a particulrly interesting story to tell. I love showing folks stuff that comes with a story. It has a way of personalizing the object. I guess that's what you call sentimental value. Your listing here, however, has for me, what I would call, "family values." LOL
