Description

The listing, Antique Gold Filled Shell Cameo Pin/Brooch/Pendant has ended.

This is a really nice piece folks! I actually got this on here as part of a jewelry lot so I don't know a whole lot about it but I will do my best to describe it.
I did do a little research on cameos and I am confident in saying that it is most definitely quite old, 80+ years at least I'm sure, and is made from shell, not plastic. The setting is 12k gold filled filligree. The delicate filligree setting does have a few bent/rough spots that a skilled jeweler should be able to straighten. They are not obvious until you look close. It is set up in the back to be a pin/brooch or a pendant.
I took the best pics I could to show not only the beauty of the piece but also the markings and the rough spots in the setting.
I though seriously about keeping it for myself, but I have another like it set in silver (which I prefer to gold), or selling it, but I figured I would have to have it repaired and appraised before I could sell it and not only do I not have the cash to do that upfront, I don't have the time! So, I thought I would share it with Listia where I know there are some here who love antique cameos!

**Disclaimer** I am not a jeweler and cannot guarentee the above statements!!! In fact, I'm sure some of you that collects these know far more about it than I do, so feel free to let me know if I am way off base here.

I love your detailed rules and I might have to do this. I am having a ugly battle over a item that arrived broken. I included the item and extras that she was looking for and now wants credits back and me to pay the shipping back or keep it all and return the credits. It is a vintage piece that I can't replace and even if repaired would be valuable. I have had many things arrive broken and never ask for anything back. It is the chance you take with the mail and the item is free. I turned it over to Listia and I will see what they say. First time I have ever had a problem or broken item and this person sends me threats on here. I think if I win this I would send you money to insure it. I have just fallen in love with these the past few months. Sorry for my long vent. I like how you have it all spelled out for people. Jen

I understand. Thankfully, I have only had one item arrive broken so far. The thing is, it can be avoided! All it takes is a little extra bubble wrap folks, really. And I recycle much of my shipping materials so it really doesn't cost that much extra.
Hopefully good shipping methods is a trend that will catch on soon, lol.
Good luck with your dispute!
