If you hold the ring back further(most cameras are not blurry at 4 ft or more) then crop the image on Picasa, you can get a clear shot! A steady hand helps, too! (You can use a table mounted Tripod (some are sold right here!) But I cannot say enough about Picasa , I use it everyday!. Outside of that a better camera , helps of course! I wish we could see nice clear pics! I'll bet you'd get a lot more if you can get some good shots! (Holding your breath as you click or a second before helps too! Lovely auction my friend! It looks like a beauty from what I can see!
They really are! You don't find natural gems in many places...your's are stunning! I still have that beautiful green tourmaline ..forest green and gorgeous!
I LOVE JTV myself. I have MANY beautiful items from them. Thinking of posting a green , blue, and white diamond ring from them as well as my morganite. Cannot decide though as I LOVE the green diamonds. Wish this one you have was a 9 though ( my loss ) as I have to go up a size with their jewelry. Who ever wins this is VERY LUCKY !!!!
You know Tanzanite is rarer than diamonds! And was discovered by the Masai at Mt. Kilimanjaro,Tanzania. It was made famous by Tiffany's as they were the first to make it into jewelry (I think it was discovered in 1967 or so) .It's" Pleochroic " meaning it shows 3 colors at once. I just got an unmounted "gem" Tanzanite. It looks to me(I'm not a jeweler)like you've got at least a Karat or more there, maybe 1.5 karats, plus the gold, this looks to be an expensive ring! (You know I've got no vested interest , as I know you only here , we are not good or close friends, though I have watched your gorgeous auctions for a long time! I just think people might want to know). I cannot profess any guarantees but I do know Tanzanite is quite rare! That's why I got mine! There isn't much to be had! Best of luck and Happy New Year!
Lol!! He's hoping!! Haha!! And , my camera isn't anything fancy , just a Kodak Easyshare, I do find taking pics outside is far better! For some reason taken inside with incandescent lights (or even the newer types , it looks like everything is moving at 75 miles per hour! Haha!! No idea why!) . Outside in daylight even at dusk they come out nice a clear! For the amount you do of picture taking it might be worth having a light box , to set the jewelry inside to shoot. This guy gives some great tips!http://www.handmadeology.com/a-6-dollar-solution-to-photographing-jewelry/
