This is not the 2015 movie but a 2002 movie about a doctor who is married to a doctor who dies in Columbia and then he begins to see her favorite animal, a dragonfly, everywhere. I have a dvd player in my car and recently watched it twice in a row on that. I think that the dvd skipped in one part where the next door neighbor was bailing the doctor out of jail. This is not the recent dragonfly movie, but I really like to story line too and was completely surprised by the ending.

Yes, it is, but I am pretty sure that the country was Columbia (maybe it was El Salvador).
