These hooks are for doing Tunisian Crochet also known as Afghan Crochet. You only use one at a time. These are NOT for teaching beginners to crochet and they are NOT circular knitting needles.

The silver one says it is a Boye H size. can't see end of green one to know. I'd like to know what these are used for? I had never seen any until I got a box of stuff at a sale and they are plastic. An experienced crocheter said she had never seen them and maybe they are used for teaching a beginner how to crochet but didn't know. Does anyone know for sure? Never seen metal ones that is for sure.

I looked them up last night as I have some from a box I picked up some where and didn't know what they were for. The beginner comment came from someone who also had never seen them before and was "guessing". Seems nifty for anyone interested Stitch Diva Studios has an excellent website on the matter and techniques. I don't crochet but they caught my eye since I have some and didn't know what I had to know what needed to be done with them. Now, I may use them for gifts along with the website for my crochet friends. Thank you for posting these and reminding me to look up and learn! ! ! I'm a knitter. I did see a site that explained them as similar to knitting circulars but only in the fashion of holding more stitches for larger projects NOT for working in the round the same way.
