Originally crafted as quiet toys for children as far back as the Civil War days. These simple little dolls were made from handkerchiefs for little girls. They were carried to church and were known as "Sunday toys" because they were only to be played with on Sundays. Some mothers would even place sugar cubes in the head for young children to silently suck on during a service.

This one is made with brand new materials, thus it's a replica of the vintage Sunday hanky doll. The handkerchief is blue, yellow,white and pink, accented with a pink ribbon. Made by me.
