Description

The listing, Crystal Stemware Drinking Glasses Embossing Folders has ended.

This embossing folder I have nicknamed "Crystal Stemware Drinking Glasses Embossing Folders" This is a folder by Darice. It measures 5 3/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches. This is perfect for illustrating those celebration memories such as a rehearsal wedding dinner toast! They can be used to illustrate wine glasses, but I personally serve water and ice tea in my stemware.

This folder can be used for scrapbooking, embellishing, card making, or more. It can help add texture and style to your paper and cardstock projects. These folders fit most embossing machines. It works best with heavy weight cardstock. Google Tim Holtz for a "how to" site. It's linked to many you-tube videos. Tim Holtz also sells a sander (which I do not include in the auction) which can make the embossing "pop." Anna Griffin likes to take embossing folders and use a brayer and washable metallic ink to ink the folder. She then inserts a piece of paper then runs it through the embosser. She also has used just an ink pad to dab the image that's embossed. Plus, she also lightly sands the embossed image. This should work in most popular embossing machines.

Have you every received a High School Graduation invitation or a wedding invitation where the words or part of the design is raised in places like part of the design? Well, that raised part is called embossing. Sometimes debossing is the opposite where it's indented inside as part of the design. You might want to check on you tube about how to use embossing folders. There are hundreds is not thousands of sites where crafters demonstrate how to use them and ideas of things they've created. I personally own several different types of machines---some electronic that feeds the paper inside the folder through the machine and some handcrank. I use mine for scrapbooking and cardmaking all the time. It actually saves you money not having to buy all those cards!

Great thanks when I go to Michaels next I'll look at the machines. Which one of the hand crank and also the electronic do you recommend

My personal favorite by far is the Cricut by Anna Griffin. Check those out on line. I had gotten mine as a daily special with the embossing folders included from hsn.com a long time ago. She also sells some things so that you can use the rubber mat and a shim and die cut the thin dies. I like it because it's feminine looking and durable. It's easiest to carry from one room to another or take to scrapbook parties. Plus, it folds up like a purse and is easy to carry. Provocraft also has a green one that is cheap and a lot of people buy, but they find it breaks easily. I should mention that hand cranking doesn't take a lot of effort.

Electronic that requires cartridges that most people like is the cricut. But, it's pricey. But, you can put images on your computer. But, you don't feed things through it.

I like my Sizzix big shot as it'll cut the bigger die cuts, but you will need a metal shim and buy the extra platform for the thin dies. I recommend the extra long one so you can do 12 inch folders. (Anna Griffin also sells some 12 inch ones). The Vagabond by Tim Holtz is nice too.

I'm not fond of too many of the electronic feed through ones. Teresa Collins has one, but it's noisy in my opinion. It's called the Cut N Boss. I don't care a lot for my Memories R Us electric one. I just don't like the way it cuts. It can be hand crank, or you can invest more to get a motor. I do like the way it stores some of the items underneath the machine.

There are other machines out there like the Silhouette, but that purpose is a little different. There are so die cut machines that are smaller. I still use my original sizzix (it's red) for some die cuts.

I already have the older cricut the cartridge one but I was unaware that it did the embossing is there an attachment I can order to where it will do that? I mainly use mine with the Don Juan cartridge

Don't use the cricut for embossing please! Contact the company just to make sure, but It's not worth destroying an electronic machine with an embossing folder! There are some electronic machines that you do feed embossing folders through such as Teresa Collin's machine or the Memories R Us machine. The new brother's machine might as well. Buy a cheaper machine for embossing like a Sizzix Big Shot of the Cuttlebug. Even tattered lace has a die cut, embossing machine, but the price is prohibitive! Their baby blue machine is closer to $6,000 and I'm not sure if that's in pounds or dollars! It's hard to tell with the symbol. But, since it's from the UK, I suspect it's in pounds which is a lot more!

Thanks for all the info I'll look at them when I go to Michaels next I may have more questions is it cool if I continue to pick your brain for info? I like to go with real live people using the product rather than the company or the store employee that just want my money

You are always welcome to question me. Others may have been wanting to know the same information, but just didn't know who to ask or even realize they wanted to know something! I'm not a professional crafter, but I have been doing this for quite a few years.

That makes two of us! However I do have my own shop on etsy if you ever want to see. I have the equipment to do scrap booking and I do but I have been doing themed frames or jewelry displays.
I was interested in the embossing as something that I could encorporate into something on that. Can you please check out my shop to see if you have any ideas on how to do that. Interested?

Yes message me privately on here. I'll be happy to. Also, some people buy my butterfly stickers that are rimmed in gold or silver and put resin over them and make them into pendants. They sell well and so I get a lot of repeat customers. The only problem is that I am almost completely out of the butterflies and can't replace them! I had purchased all the shop had too and have very few left so people are fighting over them.
