This is the Sharper Image Literati eBook reader. This reader features a full-color, anti-glare 7" LCD screen making it great for reading in all types of lighting conditions. Unlike e-ink type readers, you can read this in bed without the need for an external light source.

Pages are turned either using the the D-Pad on the keyboard or, more naturally, simply touch one of the direction arrows on the perimeter of the screen.

Supported file formats include EPUB, HTML, PDF and TXT, although by using a program called Calibre, you can convert from virtually any file format to one supported by the Literati.

You can purchase and transfer books wirelessly by connecting to the Kobo Bookstore, or you can transfer books either by SD card or USB cable.

Stumped by a word while your reading? Simply pull up the built in dictionary and you will be presented with the definition instantly!

This device comes from the factory pre-installed with about twenty free public domain books to get you started, but due to some asinine rule by the Listia Higher Ups, I will have to delete these before shipping it to you. Not to worry, though - all you have to do is do a factory reset from the settings menu and the books will be reinstalled along with the default software.

This is used. It was factory refurbished when I got it and there was a small crack on the outer case. The screen itself is not scratched or cracked at all. It is in perfect working condition. Included is the battery charger, a USB cable, the Owner's Manual and software on CD and as an added bonus - a FREE SCREEN CLEANING KIT!

cool auction! i have a lookbook (pretty much the same thing, just rebranded) and i love it! these are awesome for PDF files and the backlight is adjustable. it's really easy to use and if you turn the wifi off when you don't need to connect to the store then the battery lasts a really long time.

It is indeed the same as the LookBook. And you are correct in every other aspect as well. Except... I never was too happy with it's treatment of PDF files, but most of mine were highly technical and graphic rich. Perhaps with a strictly text based file it would do better. I will say that by converting everything to EPUB format, though, it is truly amazing! Perhaps you could use another? ;-)

i am definitely keeping my eye on it but really doubt i have enough credits too win. the PDF files i'm using mine for are pretty simple textbook format with mostly text and the occasional image. this thing also works awesomely with calibre, so people can torrent books or download them from free websites and then transfer them. everyone wants an ereader these days so i'm sure this auction will do well for you :)

It is WiFi in that you can connect to the Kobo Bookstore through WiFi to purchase books. With a little modification, it is possible to get it to browse the internet as well, but that is not factory standard.
