The listing, the Warriors of God - by William Christie has ended.
It begins with an act of terrorism: Iranian commandos sink an American assault ship. It escalates into an international crisis when United States bombers attack Iranian oil fields. Now an elite team of Iranian killers is headed to Washington, DC. Their target is the President of the United States.
In the near-future setting of this pulsing techno-thriller, Iranian frogmen sink a U.S. amphibious assault ship. The Americans, in turn, destroy the oil facilities on Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf. Iranian retaliation is spectacular: an elite commando force infiltrates the U.S.--first to raid the Marine base at Camp Lejeune, N.C., then to attack the White House and kill the president. So audacious is the plan that Richard Welsh, an obscure civilian in a marginal Pentagon job, is the only one to take the threat seriously. First novelist Christie tells an intriguing story in straightforward fashion, presenting Welsh as a conventional techno-thriller hero, the maverick ignored until almost too late. More distinctively, however, Christie establishes a convincing blend of religious zeal and combat professionalism in his characterization of the Iranians, particularly military leader Ali Khurbasi.
-= PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING =-
Obviously this is a stock photo. I can assure you that ALL of the books from my own personal library (of well over 1000 books) are in very good condition. While they have all been read, some several times, they are all well taken care of with no rips, tears or stains. While I do not smoke, I will not guarantee the environment in which they lived before they came to be with me. This particular paperback book is in VERY GOOD condition with SLIGHT YELLOWING.
Shipping is for Media Mail and will be combined if more than one book is won. I do ask that you tell me you are bidding (or planning on bidding) on more than one of my items. If you would like to offer a (reasonable) GIN for free shipping, just ask.
Good luck and thanks for looking!
