Another question - this probably plugs into my desktop computer hard drive's Ethernet port, right, but how does the device acquire the wireless signal? Do you have another thingy to plug it into the receiving device like Xbox 360, videophone, DVD player, etc... or do you program the receiving device with a code of some kind???? Not sure how WiFi works.

This is a wireless internet ( cable modem ) you must have a cable service provider in order for it to work ok please read the discription

I already have an Ethernet in use. Does this modem have two Ethernet ports so I can stick my existing Ethernet into this and use this for wireless?

hello 1 goes in to the wireless modem and the other end goes in to the the ethernet port on your computer and your set
