It says used on laptop, pc, or mac. It plugs in so I do not believe it would work for a cell. I hope this answers your question.

Yes it plugs into your laptop but at the same time you can get a wi-fi connection to your phone or 4 devices total.Is there any other # on box?

Just to clear things up the monthly fee you pay to cricket is for internet. Once you pay your bill for the month you have full access to the internet. You don't pay a charge for the device and also pay an internet charge. I hope I understood what you were asking.
