The large painted daisy is a beautiful annual flower.They are highly drought tolerant and require very little care. Painted Daisy is easy to grow from seed and produced 2’ tall plants with large white petal blooms with a yellow and red – but so many different varieties of pattern and color variations. Painted Daisy prefers full sun and will grow vigorously in any soil condition.. They are best sown after your last frost. They can be started indoors, but mine seem to do better in zone 7 where I live if directly sown. The seeds are small so I mix with soil and scatter where I want them to be. Then water. Mist daily until they pop up and then only when needed. In the fall you can save your own seeds from the seed pod of the dead flower. Open up and spread on paper to dry for 2 weeks. Keep in a paper bag or envelope in a cool dark place. You will have many for yourself and to share.
