I hate to disagree with anybody, but the stones in the ring aren't the right color to be apatite. At least I've never seen apatite that light in color in the 15 years I've been collection crystals and gems. I think you were correct in calling them aquamarine :) Very beautiful, by the way! I wish I had the credits to bid.
As a gemologist I'd let you know that the earnings are in fact Aquamarine however the ring is definitely not but it is made up of a beautiful valuable stone called Apatite. Good luck this is a very pretty set you have here!
Beautiful set! And just to throw in my two cents.. The ring could and may be apatite. Gem quality apetite is exactly this color.. As well as yellow, green, and many shades of blue. Most of the apetite we see and touch is the lesser quality polished stones which are opaque. They do look very different from the gem quality! Most importantly, it is a beautiful ring, with a beautiful color.
This looks like my raw aquamarine stone necklace. is beautiful . here is web page to see apatite gemstones. it is close. let everyone decide for themselves. seems owner would know since they originally purchased.. here is the web ...http://www.gemselect.com/apatite/apatite.php
