Im not sure it does need battery but i have had many years,will say not working just in case.

have u tried to turn the nob on the side,, tug on the the button/nob it should pop up a little, and turn it, see if the clock arms move when u do that, that will let u know some what if the gears are in ok order, and then push back in to lock the arms back in place,
