Hibiscus moscheutos, also known as rose mallow hibiscus or swamp hibiscus, is a shrubby, moisture loving plant in the hibiscus family that provides big, showy flowers from mid-summer to autumn. The plant performs well along pond edges or other damp areas. This stunning, low-maintenance plant is available in a range of colors, including pink, peach, white, red, lavender and bi-color varieties.

Above is the information provided online on this plant. Contrary to this mine grow perfectly at the end of my driveway which is very dry especially in this drought we are in, and photos are of my plants, uneaten ed thriving on their own. They come back every year, but they die completely to the ground in the winter. Although they come back in the spring, be patient as they are one of the last things to come back!!! I always think mine died, but they eventually just take off! I know it isn't from seed because I collect them all before the pods open.
