Description

The listing, Poppy Seeds, Double Shirleys, Tazmanian, Ziar, (Seeds gathered from last summer's flowers~ has ended.

Poppies are quite easy to grow, sprinkle seeds all over the spring earth and they will come! Most of the somniferum poppies have very heads and deliciously sweet seeds.
You should see many butterflies, bees and hummingbird visitors as a bonus!
These are seeds that i gathered from last years garden. They have been wrapped up in the refrigerator , patiently awaiting spring. Maybe you have some room in your flower bed for these easy going plants. xx

Technically i believe so (at least in my zone 3 area!) but there readily reseed themselves if you leave some of the heads. The Somniferous poppies have Huge pods with tons of seeds. Those often grow with no 'vent holes'(bred into them to prevent the wind from bloing/ spilling the seed). You may need to break those pods to allow the seeds to scatter.

I see, well i suppose if you'll be moving you may as well grow annuals. I'm trying to decide about moving back to Virginia...but i just hate to leave my gardens!! I have thought of Florida as well, my best friend lives there...just think of the flowers you could grow there!!

I see. My California poppies seem to be perennials, but these poppies mostly reseed themselves

Is it a mix of all the pretty colors? And love the kitty, i have 10 (inside) kitties.

Yes! We had all of these colors last summer; it was such fun to run out every morning to see the changes! They bloom profusely!
Wowzer! !0 kitties!! What a tribe :o) I love them too. We live on a really hidden dead end road, so the kitties are safe to play outside here. The garden is their favorite place!
Oh, the poppy plants are very tall too, about 4-5 feet tall, and the flowers are very big..almost like peony flowers.
