These are 70 percent silver, NOT silver plated ~ VERY heavy, nice quality beads. Sterling silver is 92.5 percent silver~~so these have less silver than sterling but still have that heavy, quality feel. Silver is so expensive now that a lot of jewelry makers are moving to metals that are "solid" but with less silver in the mix. A sterling bead in a shop would retail for at least $20, my guess is that these would sell for between $5 and $10 a bead.
