What kind of yard did you use? And what does this measure?

I use reg baby yarn. It measures approx 18 1/2 " long.

Just out of curiosity, when you crochet this, do you do it in the round? I have knitted one before, but have not yet attempted to crochet one. Very pretty stitch too!
