The listing, SAFEWAY~Vintage Sewing Needle Books~Early Advertising~Made in W. Germany has ended.

This is one Safeway premium, given to customers back in the 1950's or so. It shows a typical Safeway building, and reminds customers (on the back) that they will cheerfully refund any item that does not give complete satisfaction. It is also marked: Made in Western Germany. It holds 36 needles (missing about 4) and a aluminum threader - about 85% full. I have another needle book on Listia now, so check it out.

My Dad retired from Safeway. He talks about it all the time still. No matter what you are talking about he will some how manage to change the subject to Safeway.
I think he would get a kick out of this for Christmas. Bidding.
