The first American Series of Wade Porcelains consisted of 15 animal figurines, and were included in boxes of Red Rose Tea bags. Distribution was from 1983 -1985, and was discontinued 31 years ago.
They are stamped WADE or WADE ENGLAND with the exception of the Bird and Turtle, which have recessed bottoms embossed WADE ENGLAND.
American Series #1 consists of:
SQUIRREL - OTTER - HIPPO - BUSH BABY - CHIMP/MONKEY - BEAR CUB - SEAL - ELEPHANT - LION - WILD BOAR, with the most sought after pieces being the LONG EARED RABBIT/HARE - BEIGE BIRD - TURTLE - BISON - OWL.
Per the 2004 WADE MINIATURE BOOK by DONNA S. BAKER on pages 83-84, a full set is valued from $86.00 to $117.00.
