This book is written for young people, who are bound to like it, but it is also very enjoyable for adults. It consists of ten fictional court cases in which both sides of the case are presented along with three exhibits, A, B, and C. The exhibits are pictures, charts, diagrams, documents, letters, etc., and one of them will provide the evidence needed to decide the case. The reader has to find that evidence and make a judgment. That task can be challenging for people of any age, and sometimes a reader may even find something that the author hadn't intended. One case dealt with a will which may or may not have been valid. The signature was not witnessed, which told me all I needed to know, but the author's solution was based on something very different. The cases are real puzzles, and parents and teachers can have a lot of fun sharing them with children and solving them together. I would recommend this book to puzzle lovers of any age.

I love this book as a beginning and end of the year activity for my fourth grade students. Working in groups, my students are able to use problem solving strategies and collaboration to try and solve some of the court cases presented in this book.
