I'd bought this either in NYC's Chinatown or Flushing's "Little Chinatown" thinking,"So beautiful; I MUST get this!" I never could bring myself to actually drink from this 3 1/4" mug--the lid adds about another 1 1/2". I don't know if these photos do this lovely mug justice. I would say material is ceramic or china--no pun intended--and no, not meant for the dishwasher/microwave. I notice the lid has a little black dot near the handle; it's not dirt, possible when they do whatever finishing touches.
