Not sure how old this is- it was my 94-year-old grandma's, so I don't have a clue!

Needs a good cleaning.

I don't think so, but it's so smooth and I'm guessing sealed and shellacked I suppose it is possible. I'm pretty sure it is a picture that has been taken from a painting- like the Mona Lisa or such. Again, I'm not certain.... but I really doubt it, somebody would have been some kind of artist to do this! Thanks for your questions. :)

The screws are incredibly tiny, and have smooth heads. Hopefully that tells you something!

There is indeed a spot on the bottom where it looks there used to be a tag, but that area only measures 1" by .75"- seems like that would be one small UPC label! The box itself measures 6.5" long, 4" wide, and just under 2.75" high. Thanks for your comment!

I'm going to be presumptuous here and say if that was my 94 yr old grandma's I'd be hanging onto it for dear life for the memories just because it was her's! When I get to the point of having to actually sell memories they won't be given away on a swap site for points, but for real money !! My mom is going to be 88 and I will treasure anything I have for memories from her :o) Enough said.

I have a number of other antiques of hers that she personally has treasured; she generally gives me a carload of things she doesn't want 2-3 times a year. In addition, everything in the household goes to my mother, and thus me if I want it when she and my grandfather pass away. If I kept everything I wouldn't have any room to live my life. Not that I needed to explain myself, but this is not a family heirloom in any way; she's happy that I'm able to benefit from her clearing out her house.
