This penny is a collectors item not in circulation. This was stamped on the wrong planchet, it was stamped on either a nickel or dime planchet. This is a 1978 filled d. Only the 1943 pennys where steel. This was supposed to be copper.
I have listed a couple of pictures of a 1995 d penny in comparison to show you what the 1978 penny is supposed to look like. The auction is for the error penny not the 95. I am also going to show you the prices of the penny if it where a copper penny not a steel planchet 78 d.
