lol! I just picked that little dish up at a yard sale for $2 a few weeks ago. I love finding cute little treasures like that at yard sales. One mans trash is another treasure right

Sorry but not this time... I really am attached to the little dish. I completely forgot to test it! I've had one of those weeks where one bad thing after another has happened... It's been rough I'll go check right now and post the results. I really don't think it is though:(

So I tested the ring and it doesn't appear to me to be real silver. I just got the testing kit and am not an expert, but the color went from what you see in the bottle to a kind of greenish yellow which may have a very low silver content.
Please be advised: A lot of sellers on here will boast about the 925 stamp inside the ring they have up for auction but knowing its most likely not. If they paid less than $15 for it, well that speaks volumes! I see this happen all the time. If you ask them if it's real they refer to the 925 stamp. Tsk tsk....
Just because it's stamped does not mean it's sterling silver. That also doesn't mean it's not a lovely ring that you will be happy with... But I personally prefer honesty over deception.
I urge any of you ladies who frequently look for jewelry on Listia to buy a $10-$12 metal testing kit from Amazon. It's worth it's weight in gold - pun intended :)
FYI: I did just test a very high quality solid sterling piece I have and paid a lot of money for and the color turned burnt orangish to dark red.
