Buffalo Indian Head Nickels (4) Treated Dates + 1912 Liberty

The dates on three of these Buffalo Nickels have been treated with acid to bring out the date. They are readable, but not very good. I would call them ‘hole fillers’, coins you use to temporarily plug holes in your collection until you find better ones. The 4th Buffalo is a 1925 with a pretty readable date but worn. Also included in this auction is a 1912 Liberty nickel; most of the letters LIBERTY are readable but it has a gouge in it. You see a lot of Liberties like this; I don’t know what people did to these coins; maybe used them for target practice or something. Anyway these are not great coins and you should not bid on these unless you are familiar with the acid date process and understand what the dates will look like. The dates are as follows:

1916 – 1918 - 1920 – 1925 – 1912
