This is one of the most prolific squashes, right up there with zucchini. Picked when still small, they are even tender enough to slice seeds and all for salads. I especially love them sliced, batter dipped and deep fried to golden perfection. (By the way, smallish zucchini are pretty good this way too.) However you like to use them, just a few hills will give you plenty of tasty summer squash for your family and possibly a neighbor or two.
