Your welcome if you do get a larger drive can always find a cheaper conversion kit as well and turn that 40g into an external for extra storage.

Understandable even if uses a sata can always use extra ribbon cable or if any are open can attach that way depending on what he uses the computer for you might want an even larger one mainly use 80 gig's as a spare hd.
