Up for bids is one dc mystery comic. shipping is free.

but more importantly: aren't you tired of sellers who charge for shipping and handling but wait until after the auction is finished to tell you that they don't have paypal? this is a blatantly dishonest practice!

these sellers know what they're doing!!! they know that if potential bidders knew they had to send a check or money order and wait for it to be delivered before the item will ship, (not to mention the time it takes for checks to clear,) they wouldn't get as many bids!

either that, or they want us to risk sending cash through the mail, and trust that they will be honest enough to report it received!

the whole idea of sellers not mentioning their lack of paypal in their auction descriptions is a problem. fan me if you agree.

Questions & Comments

Also, if you see an auction where the bidder pays shipping and there is no mention of Paypal in the description, inquire in the "Questions and Comments" area as to whether they accept Paypal. Even if you aren't going to bid; you may be helping somebody else out!

I agree to some extent.. but i also think the problem is that some sellers are either A) ignorant of online services such as Paypal (sad but true ~_~)..
or
B) too young to have a Paypal and therefore too young to be on Listia!! (much more common I'm finding.. grr)

either way ..it's definitely a problem.. I always inquire ahead of time (altho sometimes you see an auction too late for inquiry (aka ending real soon) and/or the seller doesn't have time to respond)...
it sure would be nice if ALL sellers would be kind enough to note their accepted payment methods (so potential bidders need not inquire)..
.. we live and learn (and so will they... we can hope!) (^_^)v ~ fan'd ya!

Just completed my first auction. I hope to get some positive feedback. I have been ripped off in deals (pre-Internet) so can sympathize with folks getting cheated. Btw, Fanned you.
