If it's gold it would be marked14k or 10k.. if it's silver it's marked 925, at-least that's my understanding... sounds like tri color silver, still very nice.

What karat is Black Hills Gold? Nearly all pieces, regardless of manufacturer, are comprised of 10 karat yellow gold (ring shanks, pendant and earring bases), 12 karat pink and green gold (leaves, roses, hearts, butterflies etc..), 14 karat gold earring posts and complimentary gold-filled (1/20 12 karat) 18" chains for pendants. Select wedding sets are made with 14 karat gold shanks, and some companies even offer white gold for the ring shanks.
How are the green and pink-colored gold leaves made? Pure 24 karat yellow gold is alloyed with silver to create the vibrant green, and is alloyed with copper to make the dazzling pink. The resulting alloy is a more durable 12 karat gold
According to Joe Montes, president, “We find this an interesting question because ‘Black Hills’ gold is not only beautiful, but somewhat different. This material comes almost exclusively from South Dakota, where it has been crafted for many decades. The outstanding feature of ‘Black Hills’ jewelry is golden leaves that are red and green in addition to the normal yellow gold used. These colored gold designs are the result of alloying 24K gold with specific percentages of other metals to make highly-durable jewelry in 10K, 12K and 14K.”
Montes added, “The different colors of gold used for the leaves and some other areas are created by mixing 24K yellow gold with copper to achieve 12K pink or red gold and with silver to create 12K green gold.
